Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I am going to tell you something about our class trip to Eastbourne.

We left Solingen on June 5th at eight o`clock. It was a long journey. We crossed the English Channel with a ferry. And then we were in England. It was the first time that I was there. The weather was a bit foggy. So I have imagined England. Foggy and rainy. The last part of our journey was rather interesting because it was funny to see the English traffic. After eleven hours on the bus and on the ferry we arrived in Eastbourne. There we were picked up by the host families.

Adrian and I were guests of an old friendly woman. Her house was older than 100 years. We shared one little room with two beds, a cupboard and a big window. And just now I had my funniest moment. I wanted to go to the toilette, but I fell on it. It was rather small. Only about 40cm above the floor. The next day we did a treasure hunt. A terrible time. It was extremely rainy. The popular English weather. But Adrian and I got the second place. In the afternoon the class was invited by our teachers to eat fish and chips. An utterly tasty meal. In the evening we came back to Mrs Thompson, our host woman.

On Tuesday we went to London. We bought a trip on the London Eye. It was a big surprise,  that it moved rather slowly. I thought it would move faster. On Wednesday we did a hiking tour on the “seven – sisters”. Personally this day was my best day because the weather was incredibly fine. A cloudless sky and sunshine. Great! The next day we went to London again. A very nice trip. On Friday we went to Rye and Beattle, two nice old towns and to Bodiam Castle. For me that trip was not necessary at all. On Saturday we had to leave.

I was happy, to see my family again this day. We arrived in  Solingen at nine o`clock p.m.. Our last class trip with Mr Merx ended. So I went home, with a lot of great impressions of England. As a conclusion I think it was  mainly a nice trip. But I was a bit disappointed that I didn`t speak much English because our host woman didn`t speak a lot.
